SentiraXR at the ASPiH Conference 2024

ASPiH Conference 2024, November 3-5 Edinburgh International Conference Centre

Although it may seem far off, SentiraXR is already gearing up for the ASPiH Conference 2024. The event takes place from November 3rd to 5th at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.

The Association for Simulated Practice in Healthcare (ASPiH), established in 2008, has spent the past 15 years evolving and expanding its support for members while fostering relationships with other societies and commercial partners within the simulation community. Throughout its journey, ASPiH has advanced simulation-based education across the UK, Ireland, and beyond. This year’s conference will celebrate these accomplishments and provide a platform for discussing the future of the simulation community.

Speakers at ASPiH 2024

Several distinguished speakers have already been announced for the event. On Monday, November 4th, Professor Steven Yule from The University of Edinburgh will deliver a keynote address titled “How Human Factors Can Contribute to Improvement of Team Performance and Patient Safety”. Professor Yule is Chair of Behavioural Sciences at Edinburgh and leads international innovations in surgical research, human factors and patient safety.

Professor Roger Kneebone will deliver a keynote on “The Transformation of Simulation Over Time”. Professor Kneebone leads the Centre for Engagement and Simulation Science at Imperial College London and the Royal College of Music–Imperial Centre for Performance Science. His research combines his experiences as a surgeon and general practitioner with his interest in expertise beyond medicine. Since 2019, he has been the fourteenth Professor of Anatomy at the Royal Academy of Arts.

On Tuesday, November 5th, Dr. Claire Kilbride will present the keynote talk, “Simulation in Global Health Partnerships.” Dr. Kilbride is a Senior Clinical Fellow at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. She has extensive experience with Médecins Sans Frontières in various countries and the MSF Field Simulation Team in Barcelona. She currently works with Dharura, a partnership between the Bristol Royal Infirmary and Laikipia County in Kenya, where simulation programs and quality improvement projects are conducted in regional hospitals and clinics.

The conference will also feature an exhibition showcasing leading suppliers in the simulation community. SentiraXR is excited to participate under the ‘New to ASPiH’ sponsorship option.

This year’s ASPiH Conference is a milestone event. It will celebrate past achievements and pave the way for future innovations in simulation-based healthcare education. Early bird tickets are available for ASPiH 2024 until 31st July!
