Looking Ahead to ASPiH 2025: Innovation, Impact, and Immersive Futures

The healthcare simulation community is gathering once again, and this year promises to be exceptional. ASPiH 2025 will take place from 11th to 13th November at the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC), with a full programme of workshops, presentations, exhibitions, and collaboration opportunities.

A Legacy and a Mission

Since its foundation in 2008, ASPiH (the Association for Simulated Practice in Healthcare) has been central to the growth of simulation-based education across the UK, Ireland and beyond. Over those years, it has fostered connections between clinical educators, technologists, researchers, commercial partners, and patient safety experts. The annual conference has become a key moment for the community to come together, share insights, showcase innovation, and push the boundaries of simulation’s role in healthcare.

In 2024, ASPiH marked its 15th anniversary and chose the theme “Transformative Simulation”, highlighting how simulation is so much more than training: it can transform clinical practice, culture, and systems

What to Expect at ASPiH 2025

For ASPiH 2025, the theme is “Simulation for Impact: Culture, Co-production and Creativity” a powerful lens through which to explore how simulation can meaningfully influence practice, enable collaboration, and support imaginative design of future training.

In practice, that means you can expect:

  • A strong programme of keynote lectures from leaders in simulation, human factors, clinical education, and innovation
  • Pre-conference workshops and masterclasses to dive deep into technical, pedagogical, and design issues
  • An exhibition showcasing the latest in simulation hardware, software, immersive tech, and training solutions
  • Opportunities for networking, debate, and co-creation, hearing from voices across healthcare, education, and commercial sectors
  • The largest gathering in the UK for simulation professionals, attracting vendors, educators, researchers, clinicians, and students
